Terms & Conditions
Before We Begin 🐾
Dog training is incredibly rewarding, but dogs are living animals with instincts, emotions, and occasionally very strong opinions. Training can involve real risks. By participating in any session, consultation, or service with Summit K9 Training, you acknowledge and accept those risks.
As your dog’s owner or handler, you remain responsible for your dog at all times and agree to comply with applicable laws, including the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 (SA).
By continuing, you agree to the following:
🩺 Health & Care
(Keeping everyone safe — dogs and humans alike.)
I confirm that:
-
My dog is up to date with vaccinations (C5), heartworm prevention, flea/worming treatments, or appropriate veterinary titre testing
-
My dog is in good general health and has seen a veterinarian recently OR I have disclosed any relevant medical conditions in writing
-
I have fully disclosed any behavioural concerns, bite history, reactivity, aggression, or safety risks
-
I have not withheld information that may affect training outcomes or safety
🐕 Owner Responsibility
(Homework isn’t just for dogs.)
I understand that:
-
I remain legally and practically responsible for my dog at all times
-
I accept responsibility for any unforeseen injury, damage, or loss caused by my dog to people, animals, or property
-
I am financially responsible for any damage or harm caused by my dog during training sessions
⚠️ Understanding the Risks
(Dogs can be unpredictable — even the very good ones.)
I acknowledge that:
-
Dog training may involve unpredictable situations
-
I participate in training at my own risk
-
Summit K9 Training is not liable for unforeseen injury, illness, death, loss, or escape of my dog
-
This includes, but is not limited to, accidents, altercations, vehicle incidents, environmental hazards, or other unforeseen events
🎯 Training Expectations
(Progress over perfection.)
I understand that:
-
Training results cannot be guaranteed
-
Behavioural change takes time, consistency, and effort outside of sessions
-
Advice and training plans are specific to my dog and circumstances
-
No refunds will be provided solely because expected results were not achieved
Dogs learn at different speeds. Consistency outside sessions often matters more than what happens during them.
📋 Indemnity & Legal Responsibility
(The serious stuff.)
I agree to indemnify and hold Summit K9 Training harmless from claims, costs, damages, or legal expenses arising from:
-
Breach of these terms
-
My actions or my dog’s actions
-
Third-party claims involving me or my dog
-
Failure to comply with applicable laws
-
Events outside the trainer’s reasonable control
🦴 Final Note
Thanks for taking the time to read through this. Clear expectations help create safer training, better communication, and stronger outcomes for both dogs and owners.
Your dog probably skipped this section — but we appreciate you reading it.
